Good news for aerospace multi-vendor sub-contractors, a deoxidizer for aluminium without hexavalent chromium and fluoride qualified by majors OEMs is available on the market. SOCOSURF A1858/A1806 is a solution to deoxidize aluminium in surface treatment operations. It complies with REACh regulation.
OEMs and their subcontractors need to find products compliant with local legislation but also meeting their needs:
- Use of a solution which can be used with as much existing equipment as possible
- Guaranty of the process performances, passing the quality control
- Reduction of bath surveillance while maintaining stable performance
- Decrease of maintenance shutdowns
- Lower global costs of the process

Benefits of SOCOSURF A1858/A1806
- Deoxidizer without hexavalent chromium: REACh compliant
- Deoxidizer without fluoride: stable performance and etc rate, HSE improvements
- Bath easy to monitor: consistent process and adjustability of each component
- Low surface tension
- Qualified by main OEMs, use of one bath for several processes
Compared to deoxidizers with fluoride SOCOSURF A1858/A1806 allows:
- Decrease of bath renewals resulting in cost reduction (less chemical top-ups and easier water waste treatment)
- Reduction in production stoppages and their associated costs
Martin Goibier adds “SOCOSURF A1858/A1806 is the key solution for sub-contractors needing one bath for several OEMs. No need any more to change bath for the same deoxidizing phase: our bath is qualified for all majors OEMs.”
